Tressman and other scholars first proposed the prototype of a psychological dictionary, which is composed of many entries with different thresholds. When the activation of an entry exceeds its threshold, the word is recognized. With the deepening of research, a psychological dictionary is defined as the representation of the meaning of words in human psychology, which includes various aspects of information such as pronunciation, spelling, syntax, and semantics of words.
